I started a day earlier than I was planning and jumped into 100nl heads up for the first time. I had been impatiently waiting to get in on playing heads up as I think I have enough skill to beat the lower levels at Full Tilt. My actual starting bankroll is actually at $2880 and change instead of $3,000. I plan on making no more cashouts except for rakeback and hope to be at 1/2 by the end of August and 2/4 by the end of the year.
It went better than I was expecting and I feel like I had a very good read on all of my opponents. I looked for uneven stacks between $50 and $80 for the most part and it's always good when they hand you their chips.

I stayed with this guy because of how bad he played this, but unfortunately he took about $60 back from me playing 70/20 and I couldn't catch a flop against him.
Here is a nice suck and resuck hand. I hadn't played him for long but he seemed competent. I didn't see him playing a set this strong.

This was a tough one, I don't know if this is the optimal way to play it, it certainly doesn't look like I have any fold equity on the turn with over half his stack already in the pot, he called the flop raise pretty quick. What do you think?

I 4-tabled a little 6-max later on but everything went pretty standard. I need to loosen up a little as I move up in limits and I ran at 16/12/2.7 for 367 hands. I think that's fine but I wouldn't mind getting to around 18/14 or so.
Heads up: 42/31/2.5
392 hands
+220.40 (28ptbb/100)
6-max: 16/12/2.7
367 hand
-10.55 (-1.44ptbb/100)
Overall: +209.85 in 2.48 hrs.
Bankroll: $3,091,90

History
Before I get underway at Full Tilt, here is a brief summary of my poker history.
I started off playing for nickels and dimes my freshman year of college right before the big boom of poker. After that started, my friends convinced me to deposit $50 in Party Poker. I lost that pretty fast playing $5 SNGs and tried once more with $50. I came close to losing it all, but made a run, got back to even and cashed out.
A few months later I tried my hand at Pacific Poker. I played the 5-man SNGs where top 3 got paid. I deposited $100 or so, started at the $5 SNGs and ran my roll up to over 2k, cashed out and did it again eventually becoming a regular at the $100 SNGs.
Soon after I found the Prima Rounders, similar to the Party Poker steps, except one huge difference, you could keep and save tokens. I started off at Round 3 for $112 won my first and it was on from there. I would play Round 4 over and over ($300 buy in or tokens) and played Round 5 every now and then, which payed $3000, $1200, $800, $500. I played there for a little over a year and a half and did very well, making more than enough to live comfortably through college.
When I first started Prima, Round 4 was nearly automatic as top 5 of 10 moved on to the next round. But as word got around and the fishies stopped playing, the field got tougher and tougher and it became an unenjoyable grind. I still did well but got burned out. I used up the remainder of my tokens and took a break in Feb. of 2006. During my time at Prima, I dabbled in cash games, mainly 3/6 and 5/10 limit with marginal success.
I started feeling the urge to get back in the game later that year, and got into reading poker forums such as 2+2 and pocketfives. They didn't help my game or anything, but did give me some motivation to start playing again. I dropped about $800 in Pokerstars that fall and started playing SNGs and some MTTs, with pretty much no success in tournaments. I dropped to $400 and decided to join Cardrunners and improve my cash game play. I started at 50nl (great BR management) and pushed it up to $3200 by April, about 75% 6-max and 25% full ring.
I switched to 100nl on May 1st and started off hot but have cooled off since then. Over the last two months, the amount of hands I have put in has dwindled due to a lot of things going on, such as moving into my new house, preparing for grad school and working. I moved into the new place on May 18th, my birthday by the way as I turned 23. I'm settled in and ready to start the grind again.

Getting Re-Started
I've decided to start this blog in hopes of improving my play while moving up the poker ranks. I've got a nice start and am now looking to take the next step. The majority of this blog will be poker related so feel free to leave any comments about hands, etc.
I joined Cardrunners in Dec. of 2006 and have done reasonably well over the first six months of playing cash games. I started with about $500 on Pokerstars and have made a little over 5k counting FPP bonuses. Nearly all of my hands are at 50nl but I started playing 100nl beginning in May. I've been basically break even at the 100nl level and have cashed out a good amount.
I haven't played nearly enough over the last month or so due to moving into a new house among other things. I plan to make one last cashout at Pokerstars and move my entire roll to Full Tilt in order to take full advantage of rakeback. I will be starting with $3,000 on July 1st at 100nl and I plan to start mixing in some heads up with my 6 max play. I will try to update almost every day. Enjoy the blog.
